Chief Operating Officer

Luc Ménard is the Chief Operating Officer of Desjardins Capital. As such, he is particularly in charge of managing the Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins fund.

Until August 2016, he was Vice President in Chief of Investment, where he led a team of professionals, with a solid footing in all parts of Québec, that specialized in corporate acquisitions, development capital, business ownership transfers, and support for the development and growth of cooperatives.

He joined the Desjardins team in 2001, where he was successively Director of Investments and Telecommunications, IT and Telecommunications Director, and Vice President. Previously, he had been active in large companies and in telecommunications startups.

Mr. Ménard has been working in the private sector for over 20 years. His strategic vision, comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurs’ issues and challenges, and considerable expertise in corporate acquisitions are his strong suits.

With a bachelor in engineering from the University of Sherbrooke and a masters in business administration (MBA) from Queen’s University, he currently sits on several boards.
